What is a lead custodian?

Lead Custodians are experienced custodial workers responsible for supervising and coordinating the cleaning and maintenance staff in facilities such as schools, offices, or public buildings. They oversee daily cleaning operations, assign tasks, ensure safety and cleanliness standards are met, and may train new custodians. Additionally, Lead Custodians often act as a liaison between the custodial team and management, reporting maintenance issues and managing inventory of cleaning supplies.

What are some common challenges faced by a lead custodian, and how can they be effectively managed?

Lead Custodians often face challenges such as coordinating cleaning schedules across large facilities, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and managing a diverse team with varying levels of experience. Effective communication, strong organizational skills, and proactive problem-solving are crucial for addressing these challenges.
