Requirements
  • 10 or more years of experience in Visual COBOL and Micro Focus COBOL enterprise application development.
  • Proficiency in Oracle 19+ SQL database programming within Windows client-server architectures.
  • Experience with Visual COBOL V9 architecture, system analysis, and complex application design.
  • Experience in leading technical software engineering teams through development, testing, and deployment phases.
  • Experience with providing Level 3 (L3) production support and defect remediation for mission-critical platforms.
  • Experience in Microsoft Visual Studio .NET, C# integration, and public sector government systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
 
Responsibilities
  • Lead software engineering teams in the design, development, and enhancement of core business platforms.
  • Program and debug complex Visual COBOL and Micro Focus COBOL codebases integrated with Oracle SQL databases.
  • Provide Level 3 (L3) production support to resolve critical application defects and system modification requests.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to translate operational needs into technical specifications.
  • Coordinate code promotions, integration testing, and software release deployments across enterprise environments.
  • Mentor software development staff and review architectural deliverables to maintain programming standards.
