Compensation: Starting at $23 per hour

Key Details

  • Hours: Guaranteed 30 hours per week,6 hours per school day throughout regular school year (RSY)
  • Availability Requirement: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM
  • Pay Rate: $23 per hour
  • Location: Various schools within LAUSD, LBUSD, and other districts
  • Individual Assignment Duration: Coverage Behavior Technician will maintain a minium 30hr per week schedule during RSY, individual student/school coverage assignments throughout RSY may vary from 1 to 30+ days based on coverage needs
  • Reporting Location: In the event coverage is not assigned, Coverage Behavior Technician will report to one of Intercare’s Behavioral Health Centers to conduct essential non-coverage functions
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Coverage Behavior Technician to join our School Services team at Intercare Therapy. This floating position provides essential coverage support when Behavior Interventionists are absent, ensuring continuous quality care for our students across various school districts across Greater Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley areas.

Reports to: Supervisor, School Services and Vice President, Post Launch Operations

Accountable to: Coverage assignments from Vice President, Post Launch Operations Care Coordinators, Supervisor, School Services, and Case & Launch Planners

Direct Therapy and Administrative Responsibilities:
  • Implement Individual Education Plans (IEP) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) in collaboration with classroom teachers
  • Provide individualized behavioral instructional support to meet specific student needs
  • Apply Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) methodologies to address targeted behaviors
  • Monitor and assist students during transitions, meals, and daily activities
  • Facilitate recreational activities and support off-campus trips
  • Maintain detailed daily documentation of student behavior and progress across all required systems
  • Respond to emergency situations using Nonviolent Crisis Intervention techniques
  • Establish effective communication channels with supervisors and agency staff
  • Provide professional, efficient, and effective services in all areas of performance, including following the appropriate scheduling, administrative, and payroll-related protocols:
    • Accurately completes necessary documentation, including session notes and collecting client signatures, into the practice management system and keeps updated with other site-related documents and current medical reports for each client.
    • Collects and records data on observable client behavior.
    • Maintains client confidentiality.
    • Utilizes safe and appropriate handling procedures when working with clients.
    • Provides client-related communication to caregivers and the program team, as appropriate.
    • Maintains and acquires technical knowledge by attending required trainings, staff meetings, in-services, team meetings, and other meetings as requested.
    • Support Supervisor, School Services in review of team performance and compliance including but not limited to staff and student cancellations, overall ISA minutes utilization, and staff session documentation and conversion
Requirements:
  • 2+ years experience in behavioral intervention or special education
  • Knowledge of ABA principles and methodologies
  • CPI certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to travel up to 35 miles one-way within assigned region
  • Reliable transportation
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Physical ability to support students in various activities
  • Flexibility to adapt to different school environments and student needs
