Job description

Job Summary:
Google is a leading technology company focused on developing next-generation technologies that enhance user connectivity and interaction. They are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to work on critical projects within their infrastructure and serverless networking teams, collaborating with various engineering teams to optimize outcomes for Google Cloud customers.
Responsibilities:
• Work on the different software stacks that can be seen along the numerous network paths that we support.
• Collaborate regularly with other Engineering teams in and outside the Serverless organization.
• Interact with Product, Developer Relations, and other functions to ensure optimal outcomes for Google Cloud customers.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience programming in C++.
• 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
• Experience building service-to-service communication models within Layer 7 networking.
Preferred:
• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
• Experience building, scaling, and maintaining highly-available systems.
• Experience writing modern C++ with the knowledge in networking.
• Ability to ship customer-facing infrastructure.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally across technical and non-technical partners.
