Job description

Overview
Apogee is seeking a Signals Intelligence Analyst, Consulting to support the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC). This high-impact role provides analytical support across core intelligence disciplines, with a primary focus on Signals Intelligence (SIGINT).
USASMDC delivers Army space and missile defense capabilities to the Joint Force by developing, fielding, and sustaining space, high-altitude, hypersonic, and missile defense systems and providing operational space support to Army and joint units. In support of this mission, the SIGINT Analyst collects, processes, exploits, and analyzes signals data to produce timely, actionable intelligence for threat characterization, indications and warning, and operational decision-making.
This is a full-time opportunity at Petterson Space Force Base (PSFB), CO.

Responsibilities
  • Identify signals of interest in foreign satellite communications.
  • Demonstrate relevant, senior-level, or higher SA experience in NSA production offices, service cryptological production elements, and/or other relevant SIGINT production agencies.
  • Understand signal theory (power, frequency, modulation, phase, polarity, propagation), modulation techniques (AM, FM, BPSK, FSK, QPSK, PSK, QAM, PCM), multiple access strategies (FDMA, TDMA, CDMA, DAMA), encoding/decoding transmission (physical layer), be familiar with signal technologies and standards (DVB-S2, iDirect, HughesNET, ComTech), linear recursive sequences, convolutional coding, protocol stacks, etc.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the OSI model, standard protocols (TCP, UDP), IP subnetting, telecommunications technologies, IPv4 and IPv6 networks, and Classless Interdomain Routing (CIDR).
  • Complete recommended NSA Courses NETA2402/NETA2108 (Analysis II) & any of the following: RPTG2238, RPTG2235, RPTG3225, RPTG3222 (Basic Analytical Reporting) or equivalent curriculum SIGC2401 (Introductory TDMA) and/or SIGC3200 (Advanced VSAT Analysis) or equivalent curriculum; Military Cryptologic Continuing Education Program (MCCEP) Phase 1 and 451 (Intermediate Communications Signals Analysis Course) or 452 (Advanced Communications Signals Analysis Course) or governmental or commercial equivalents.

Qualifications
Minimum Experience:
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a Top Secret (TS) with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) adjudication
Education: Bachelors Degree
Years of Experience: 7+ years SIGINT experience, including COMINT/communications signals analysis and foreign SATCOM SOI identification/characterization.
Additional Experience:
  • Senior SIGINT production experience supporting NSA production offices, Service Cryptologic Components, and/or other SIGINT production agencies.
  • Strong working knowledge of signal theory and modern modulations (AM/FM, PSK/QPSK/BPSK, FSK, QAM, PCM) and multiple access methods (FDMA/TDMA/CDMA/DAMA).
  • Familiarity with SATCOM standards/technologies (DVB-S2, iDirect, HughesNet, Comtech) and physical-layer features (encoding/decoding, protocol stacks, FEC/convolutional coding).
  • Networking fundamentals: OSI, TCP/UDP, IPv4/IPv6, subnetting, CIDR.
  • Ability to produce timely, customer-ready SIGINT technical reporting.

  • NSA courses NETA2402/NETA2108 and/or reporting courses (RPTG2238/2235/3225/3222) or equivalent.
  • SATCOM coursework SIGC2401 and/or SIGC3200, and/or MCCEP Phase 1 + 451/452 (or equivalent).
  • Experience with IP-enabled SATCOM/data links and joint/IC production environments.
