Job description

Join The Virga Law Firm as a Family Law Paralegal and Transform Lives Through Expert Legal Support
The Virga Law Firm, P.A. is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Family Law Paralegal to join our exceptional team at our Pensacola location in a full-time, in-person role. This position offers an extraordinary opportunity to make a profound difference in families' lives during their most challenging legal situations while working alongside some of the most experienced and respected family law attorneys in the region who are dedicated to mentoring and developing their team members.
Our firm takes immense pride in our unwavering commitment to integrity, excellence, and achieving the best outcomes for our clients, emphasizing teamwork, community stewardship, and the relentless pursuit of victory for those we serve. As a Family Law Paralegal with us, you'll play a vital role in supporting our attorneys and clients throughout the litigation process, directly contributing to life-changing outcomes in complex family law matters including divorces, child custody disputes, alimony determinations, and related cases that require both professional expertise and genuine compassion.
Your core responsibilities will encompass managing the entire family law process from initial case intake through discovery and trial preparation, assisting attorneys with drafting pleadings and legal correspondence, handling the collection and organization of discovery materials, maintaining meticulous case files while tracking deadlines, and communicating with clients to obtain necessary documents and information. You'll draft and file family law pleadings with precision, manage all aspects of default proceedings including service verification, prepare financial affidavits and child support calculations, coordinate court appearances and legal events, and develop case strategies for matters involving non-participating opposing parties. Additionally, you'll prepare comprehensive supporting documentation for claims related to alimony, child support, and attorney's fees while maintaining accurate case calendars and e-filing court documents.
What sets The Virga Law Firm apart is our collaborative and team-oriented environment where paralegals are truly valued as essential members of our legal team. We foster a positive work culture that includes staff celebrations and recognition programs such as Bonusly to promote team support and morale, creating an atmosphere where you can thrive professionally while maintaining excellent work-life balance. You'll have abundant opportunities for growth and advancement while learning from seasoned attorneys who bring decades of family law experience and are passionate about sharing their knowledge and expertise.
We're seeking candidates with a minimum of one year of family law experience, demonstrated expertise in default proceedings and case management, proficiency in preparing financial discovery and child support guideline worksheets, and strong ability to calculate income for support purposes. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional organizational and documentation skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, a strong work ethic with the ability to manage multiple cases effectively, comprehensive knowledge of Florida Family Law including state-specific procedures, and proficiency with legal practice management software such as Clio and document management systems.
This position offers a competitive salary based on experience and qualifications, along with an outstanding benefits package including 160 hours of paid time off annually, 11 standard holidays plus one flexible holiday, half-day Fridays based on productivity, comprehensive supplemental insurance through Colonial Life including dental, vision, life insurance, and short-term disability, plus professional development opportunities. Most importantly, you'll join a dynamic, fast-paced legal environment where your expertise directly impacts families during their most critical moments, making a meaningful difference in our Pensacola community while building a rewarding career with opportunities for continued growth and advancement.
To apply, please submit your complete application package including your current resume, cover letter, two letters of recommendation, and a personal essay explaining your "Why" in family law and why The Virga Law Firm should choose you to help represent our clients, along with responses to questions about your case management experience, available start date, salary requirements, and your positive outlook. Submit all materials to careers@thevirgalawfirm.com or call 850-565-3426 for more information about joining our exceptional team.
