The Semester of Service Program gives students a volunteer, project-based opportunity to support real Federal missions, gaining hands-on experience and career-ready skills. To participate, students must be enrolled at least half-time in an accredited institution and participation must be with the permission of the institution at which the student is enrolled.
With this project, you will support a Law Enforcement Technology & Process modernization based project.Qualifications:Applicants will be considered based on their knowledge, skills or abilities related to project needs. Specifically, applicants should:
The volunteer will focus on optimizing Army installation crime prevention and incident response procedures by conducting a comprehensive Business Process Reengineering (BPR) study. The volunteer will document the current "As-Is" workflow of incident reporting, evidence collection, and technology utilization at selected Army Garrison Provost Marshal Offices (PMO) to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks. Leveraging DoD and Army crime prevention doctrine, the intern will develop a "To-Be" model-incorporating advanced technologies like automated reporting systems-to enhance situational awareness and align garrison police activities with the Army Preventive Policing Model (AP2M). The project will culminate in actionable recommendations and process maps designed to improve efficiency, reduce incident reporting timelines, and strengthen installation security, providing a tangible return on investment for HQDA-level policy development.
Education:To qualify, you must be enrolled not less than half-time in an accredited trade school, technical or vocational institute, junior college, college, university, or other accredited educational institution.
