We are currently seeking experienced and professional full-time candidates to join our team.


Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Large Format Print Operator to run production on VUTEk Q3H-XP and VUTEk X3R platforms. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operation of large format printing equipment, ensuring high-quality output, efficient production flow, and proper material handling across both flatbed and roll-to-roll applications.

Experience with digital cutting systems such as Zund G3 is a plus but not required.

1st Shift: 7:00am-3:30pm (Overtime as needed)


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Operate large format printing equipment including VUTEk Q3H-XP (hybrid) and VUTEk X3R (roll-to-roll) 

Set up, run, and monitor print jobs including file setup, media loading, color checks, and print execution 

Handle a variety of substrates including rigid boards and roll media 

Ensure proper print quality, color consistency, and alignment throughout production runs 

Perform routine maintenance on printers including cleaning, head maintenance, and basic troubleshooting 

Monitor machine performance and adjust settings to maintain production efficiency and quality standards 

Review job tickets and production instructions to ensure accurate job execution 

Stage and prepare printed materials for finishing processes including cutting and kitting 

Troubleshoot print-related issues including banding, color variation, and material handling challenges 

Coordinate with prepress, finishing, and production teams to maintain workflow and meet deadlines 

Support cutting operations (Zund G3 or similar) as needed for print-to-cut workflows 

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment 

Follow all company safety procedures and equipment operating guidelines 

Perform other duties as assigned 

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Hands-on experience with both flatbed and roll-to-roll printing environments 

Understanding of print-to-cut workflows and finishing processes 

Familiarity with RIP software and file preparation for large format printing 

Strong understanding of color consistency, print quality, and substrate behavior 

Ability to troubleshoot print issues and make real-time adjustments 

Mechanical aptitude and production-oriented mindset 

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality 

Ability to manage multiple jobs in a fast-paced production environment 

Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

Effective communication skills across departments 

Must be fluent and proficient in English (verbal and written) to effectively communicate job requirements, safety procedures, and production instructions 

Basic computer skills and ability to read job tickets 

Qualifications - Education, Experience, License/Certifications:

2-5 years of large format printing experience required 

Experience with VUTEk printers strongly preferred (Q3H-XP, X3R, or similar UV platforms) 

Experience operating both flatbed and roll-to-roll equipment required 

Experience maintaining printhead performance, ink systems, and production uptime in a high-volume environment preferred 

Experience with digital cutting systems (Zund, Kongsberg, or similar) preferred but not required 

Experience in a commercial printing, signage, or graphics production environment preferred 

High School Diploma or equivalent 


Physical Requirements

Standing/Walking: The operator must be able to stand for long periods while working with the cutting table, adjusting settings, and overseeing production processes. This requires stamina and the ability to move around the equipment and workspace efficiently.

Lifting/Carrying: The job requires the ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds, such as large sheets of printed material, tools, and equipment needed for the production process.

Manual Dexterity: The role requires excellent hand-eye coordination for operating the cutting table and handling materials with precision. Operators must also be able to perform quality checks, adjust settings, and make quick adjustments while maintaining focus on accuracy.

Repetitive Motion: The operator will perform repetitive tasks such as feeding materials into the machine, operating controls, and making minor adjustments. The ability to maintain efficiency and accuracy during repetitive motions is important.

Vision: Strong visual acuity is necessary to monitor the cutting process, perform quality checks, and read job tickets and specifications to ensure all dimensions and cuts are correct.

Mechanical Skills: A solid understanding of mechanical systems is essential for setting up, operating, and maintaining the digital cutting table, with potential for troubleshooting and performing minor repairs.

Safety and Ergonomics: The operator will be responsible for the safe operation of the equipment and maintaining a clean work area. This includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensuring proper ergonomics to reduce physical strain during long hours of operation.

Environment Adaptability: The position may involve working in environments with varying temperatures, depending on the facility. The operator should be prepared to adjust to different working conditions, including indoor environments with machines and equipment that may generate heat.

Communication: The operator will need to communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other employees to ensure a smooth workflow and address any issues that arise during production.


Compensation:

The base compensation range for this full-time position is $23 - $28 per hour plus benefits. Compensation ranges are determined by various factors, including role, experience, and location. The pay range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within the range, actual individual compensation is determined by various factors, including location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
