Job Title: Mechanic
Location: Charleston, SC
Schedule: Monday – Friday

Ruppert Landscape is a privately held commercial landscape maintenance and construction company based in Laytonsville, MD. With a multi-state presence and a small company feel, our mission is to provide opportunities for our people, take care of our customers, and be good stewards of the environment and our community.
 
Position Description: 
We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled Mechanic to join our team. This individual will play a critical role in maintaining and servicing a wide range of fleet vehicles and equipment, including diesel/gas trucks, commercial mowers, and two-cycle equipment. Candidates with practical experience in these areas are highly encouraged to apply.
 
Primary Responsibilities: 
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform repairs and preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment
  • Perform mechanical work on a variety of assets, including power equipment, mowers, trucks, trailers, and other landscape tools
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the shop area
  • Ensure consistent upkeep and preservation of fleet vehicles and landscaping equipment
  • Accurately document and maintain service and repair records
  • Provide exceptional internal customer service, prioritizing efficiency, quality, and communication
  • Assist with other operational tasks as assigned
 
Qualifications: 
  • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on mechanical experience
  • Must possess a personal, comprehensive set of tools required to perform daily mechanical tasks efficiently and safely 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, especially with gas/diesel vehicles and landscaping equipment
  • Positive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow within the organization
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • High attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality
  • Ability to supply personal tools as needed for job responsibilities
  • Experience with diesel engines and bilingual ability (English/Spanish) are preferred but not required
