**Position Title:** Landscaping Mechanic/General Laborer
**Shift:** First Shift Part time - Hours may vary but will be working between 8am-5pm
**Location:** Smithville
#### Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Landscaping Mechanic/General Laborer to join our landscaping team. This position involves a mix of mechanical work on landscaping equipment and general labor duties to support our landscaping projects. The successful candidate will work closely with the landscaping crew to ensure all equipment is in optimal working condition and assist with various landscaping tasks as needed. This is a first shift opportunity with potential for growth within the company.
#### Key Responsibilities:
- **Equipment Maintenance and Repair:**
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on landscaping equipment, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and other machinery.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance and repairs performed.
- **General Labor:**
- Assist landscaping crew with tasks such as planting, pruning, mulching, weeding, and sod installation.
- Operate and maintain landscaping tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment from trucks.
- Assist in site preparation and clean-up activities.
- **Safety and Compliance:**
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Report any safety concerns or incidents to the supervisor immediately.
- **Other Duties:**
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor to support the landscaping team.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals and deadlines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
#### Qualifications:
- **Experience:**
- Previous experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience with mechanical repairs and maintenance of landscaping equipment is highly desirable.
- **Education:**
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Vocational training in mechanics or a related field is a plus.
- **Other Requirements:**
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed.
**Pay: $20/PH
**Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm.
