Job description

Position Overview
The Landscape Construction Crew Leader is a full-time, hourly, year-round production role for candidates with at least three years of relevant experience. The Crew Leader spends most of the day in the field managing Crew Members and quality of work.

Day-to-Day Stuff
  • Manage a crew of 1- 3 workers
  • Lead team for installation of planting, seeding, soil preparation, erosion control installation, and hardscape materials.
  • Consistently adhere to established quality and safety standards
  • Demonstrates competency in operating landscape-construction equipment; if unfamiliar, consistently demonstrate willingness to learn
  • Meet deadlines and expectations expressed by Manager
  • Effectively communicate with Manager and Crew Members
  • Perform light maintenance on equipment in the field, as needed
  • Understand and meet project specific production budgets and deadlines
  • Other duties assigned

What you need to succeed
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
  • Valid driver's license with eligibility to be added to Company's auto insurance
  • Class "A" CDL preferred or the ability to acquire within 45 days of hire
  • English/Spanish bilingual is a plus
  • Achieve any department required certification within 30 days or as directed by manager
  • Ability to read plans and perform in-field layout and measurements.
  • Complete daily work orders according to instructions, accurately log work completed, and return completed work order
  • Accurately record hours worked on a daily basis
  • Demonstrate mastery of landscape skills gained through prior training
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with supervisors, peers and Crew Members
  • Ability to assess situations and make appropriate decisions
  • Proficient using basic, in-field technology
  • Available to work outside regular business hours as needed, including during winter
