Job description

Position Summary
The Design amp; Build Foreperson is responsible for leading and managing a residential landscape installation crew of 3–5 associates. This role requires strong leadership, organization, and communication skills to ensure high-quality project execution, accurate daily reporting, and excellent client service. The Foreperson oversees installation work, directs crew activities, and ensures projects are completed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Landscape Installation amp; Construction
  • Construct retaining walls, paver patios, walkways, and other hardscape features
  • Install softscape elements including plantings, garden beds, and landscape materials
  • Work on high-end residential properties, maintaining quality standards
Crew Leadership amp; Supervision
  • Lead, assign, and direct daily work for a crew of 3–5 employees
  • Train team members on proper installation techniques and safety practices
  • Balance workloads and ensure efficient task completion
  • Inspect completed work and ensure quality standards are met
Client Communication amp; Documentation
  • Communicate with clients regarding project progress and expectations
  • Maintain accurate daily worksheets and job documentation
  • Ensure clear communication between crew members and management
Equipment amp; Operations
  • Operate and oversee the use of landscape construction equipment (e.g., Bobcats)
  • Assist with general site operations including material handling and setup
  • Support peak season operations as needed
Quality amp; Productivity
  • Ensure projects are completed efficiently and meet company standards
  • Monitor workflow and adjust as needed to maintain productivity
  • Assist with problem-solving on job sites
  • Duties may or may not be subject to change
Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in residential landscape installation
Skills and Competencies
  • Knowledge of:
    • Natural stone, timber retaining walls, brick, and pavers
    • Trees, shrubs, and perennial plant materials
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Basic understanding of irrigation systems and repairs
  • Experience operating landscape equipment
  • Ability to read, write, and follow instructions
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Meet all physical requirements of the position.
  • Pass all drug and alcohol screens as required by Company policy and, if applicable, required by DOT regulations.
  • 18 years of age or older, or 21 if CDL is required.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.

This role is based in an office environment with occasional remote work flexibility. The position may require limited travel.
