Landscape Crew Member

Classification: Nonexempt

Salary Grade/Level/Family/Range: Staff

Reports to: Landscape Foreman


JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

The Landscape Crew Member is responsible for installation of plant material, hardscapes, mulch, boulders, etc. on commercial and residential client properties. 

Essential Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  1. Assists with unloading of work trucks and delivery trucks.
  2. Assists with site setup of plant materials.
  3. Evenly spreads mulch and soil amendments. 
  4. Ensures that job site staging area is clean and organized.
  5. Uses all installation tools according to company safety policy.
  6. Complies with company safety policy at all times.
  7. Installs plant material, water features, hardscapes, etc. with attention to detail and precision. 
  8. Operates equipment and machinery carefully and follows safety policies.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body; be able to reach overhead; be able to work in various positions, including stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time; be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks; and be able to frequently lift 50 pounds of weight throughout the assigned workday.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Schedule fluctuates Monday through Saturday. Occasional overtime may be required.

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Education and Experience

1-6 years landscape industry preferred.

Associates or Bachelor degree in landscape design, horticulture or related field of study.
