Job description

The Landings Association is seeking a dependable, professional, and service-minded Security Officer to join our Security team on 2nd shift, 2:45 p.m. to 10:45 p.m.

Security Officers serve as one of the first points of contact for The Landings community and play an important role in promoting a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for residents, guests, vendors, employees, and Association property. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in professionalism, enjoys helping others, and can remain calm and confident in both routine and emergency situations.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and controlling access to the community for residents, guests, visitors, vendors, and service personnel
  • Conducting vehicle and foot patrols throughout the community
  • Performing premise checks of TLA facilities and assigned residential properties
  • Monitoring cameras, alarms, radios, and related security systems
  • Responding to calls, requests, complaints, accidents, alarms, and emergency situations
  • Providing assistance to residents, guests, emergency responders, and law enforcement as needed
  • Promoting compliance with community rules, regulations, and covenants through professional communication
  • Completing accurate logs, reports, citations, and incident documentation
  • Providing directions, information, and general assistance with a strong customer-service mindset
  • Inspecting and maintaining assigned security vehicles and equipment
Requirements

Qualified candidates should have:

  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to be insured under TLA’s vehicle insurance policy
  • Reliable and predictable attendance
  • Availability to work 2:45 p.m. to 10:45 p.m., including weekends as needed
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Good judgment and the ability to remain calm under pressure
  • The ability to work independently while following established procedures
  • Basic computer and mobile device skills
  • The ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and meet the physical requirements of the position
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous security, public safety, law enforcement, military, emergency response, or customer service experience
  • First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain certification if training is provided
  • Familiarity with gated communities, access control, patrol procedures, or incident reporting
