Job description

Position Summary

Teal is seeking a highly motivated Supply Chain Intern for the Summer 2026 season. This is not a "shadowing" role; you will be embedded directly into our live workflows to solve high-impact bottlenecks. Your primary mission will be to establish a Landed Cost Baseline for our purchased products and support the proliferation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across our growing entities.

This role is designed for a candidate who thrives in ambiguity, loves digging into large datasets, and wants to see their work directly influence executive-level decision-making.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Landed Cost Analysis: Lead the project to identify and baseline the true landed cost for purchased products. This involves collaborating with Shipping, Finance, and Procurement to capture freight, duties, and handling fees.
  • Procurement & Sourcing Support: Assist with non-inventory buying activities and support daily purchasing operations to provide capacity relief for the senior functional team.
  • SOP Proliferation: Help standardize and "roll out" newly developed Supply Chain SOPs across various business entities to ensure operational consistency.
  • Data Hygiene: Execute data cleanup and maintenance within SAP and Arena PLM to improve MRP accuracy and inventory visibility.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to ensure data integrity and supply chain alignment.
  • Executive Presentation: Prepare and deliver a formal capstone presentation to the VP of Supply Chain and other executive leadership detailing your accomplishments and process improvements.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently a Junior or Senior pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Economics, or a field focused on Large Data/Analytics.
  • Advanced Excel Skills: You should be comfortable managing large datasets and using complex formulas to drive insights.
  • Technical Aptitude: Ability to quickly learn and navigate ERP/PLM systems (SAP and Arena experience is a plus).
  • Comfort with Ambiguity: You can take messy data or high-level goals and create structure.
  • Team Player: A collaborative mindset with the ability to work onsite with diverse functional teams.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written skills for reporting findings to both managers and executives.
  • Ability to work On-site for the duration of the 12-week program, 30-40 hours a week.
  • Must maintain strict Confidentiality regarding supplier data and pricing

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Must be able to walk, stand, and navigate large indoor and outdoor facilities for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials and equipment weighing up to 25 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required in designated areas or when performing specific tasks, in accordance with safety protocols and company policy.
  • May be required to climb ladders, stoop, kneel, or crouch during inspections, maintenance walk-throughs, or emergency response situations.
  • Regular exposure to facility operations including noise, dust, temperature fluctuations, and industrial equipment.
  • Occasional off-hours or weekend work required for emergency facility responses or projects as needed
  • Requires frequent use of a computer and other standard office equipment for documentation, communication, and coordination tasks.

Background Check

This position will require successfully completing a post-offer background check. Qualified candidates with a criminal history will be considered and are not automatically disqualified, consistent with federal and state law.
