Job description

Our client, a growing civilengineering and surveying team in the Indianapolis area is seeking an experienced Surveyor to support boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and construction staking projects across central Indiana. This role is handson, fieldfocused, and ideal for someone who takes pride in accuracy, efficiency, and craftsmanship.

The Surveyor works closely with project managers, CAD staff, and field crews to deliver precise field data and highquality survey products from mobilization through final deliverables.

$70,000 - $90,000 a year

Key Responsibilities

Perform boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and construction staking surveys

Ensure compliance with Indiana survey law and professional standards

Track project progress and communicate schedule or scope issues proactively

Minimum Requirements

3+ years of professional field surveying experience

Experience with Trimble or Leica equipment and related software

Familiarity with central Indiana survey records (Boone, Hamilton, etc.)

Construction staking experience for land development projects

Ability to mentor or lead a survey technician or twoperson crew

What Makes an Ideal Candidate

Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy

Dependable, fieldready, and methodical in both work and documentation

Proactive communicator who flags issues before they become downstream problems

Organized field notes and consistent reporting habits

Reliable and punctual - understands that field schedules depend on the crew

Sees surveying as a craft and takes ownership of the quality of their work

Standout Qualities

Active Indiana LS license with the ability to stamp deliverables

Experience managing survey projects from records research through final plat

Familiarity with county recorder and surveyor systems in central Indiana
