Job Summary The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) seeks motivated professionals who want to use their talents and skills to make a difference. As the lead agency in the HUD-funded Los Angeles Continuum of Care (CoC), we coordinate and manage federal, state, county, and city funds for programs providing shelter, housing, and services to people experiencing homelessness. The Instructional Designer will have the opportunity to design, develop, and implement learning experiences for LAHSA's staff and homeless service providers across Los Angeles County. The Instructional Designer will serve as a thought-partner and subject matter expert in learning solutions for team members and stakeholders.

This position's learning solutions will serve staff who tirelessly work to end homelessness. The functions listed below are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be interpreted as an exhaustive list of responsibilities. Essential Job Functions Design dynamic and interactive eLearning solutions.

Write scripts, develop story boards, and record narration for eLearning courses. Develop interactive courses, instructional videos, job aids, and user guides. Support the training needs for users of the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS).

Conduct needs assessments utilizing the ADDIE model. Consult with LAHSA stakeholders and recommend training solutions. Build rapport with SMEs, management, and stakeholders.

Research training vendors when appropriate and present recommendations to management. Upload training resource files (PDF,MP4,SCORM files) into the agency LMS and website. Support LMS activities when necessary, including creating and managing courses and course files, and support user management.

Run reports and measure user metrics in LMS when requested. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Proven expertise in the development of eLearning courses and eLearning solutions.

Fluency in using authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline or Adobe Captivate. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated basic audio/video editing and graphic design capabilities.

Willingness to manage tasks, issues, and solutions. Experience in applying adult learning theories and models to the learning design process. Ability to receive and process feedback.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to balance multiple projects and tasks simultaneously within a tight timeframe. Candidates must include the link to their eLearning portfolio on their resume.

Training & Experience 2-3 years of instructional design ande-learning development experience. Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or Education Technology. Schedule: The Chief Executive Officer or designee may change the schedule of positions between hybrid and onsite, as necessary to accomplish LAHSA's business needs.
