Job description

Mammoth Disposal, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a Transfer Station/BuyBack Center Attendant to work out of our facilities located in Mammoth Lakes, CA!
The schedule is 5 days a week, including a weekend day. The schedule will be set, but could be a 6:30-3pm shift some days, and 10:30am-7pm shift other days.
Starting pay is $21-22 per hour. The pay range for this job category is $21-$24 per hour.
This is a great opportunity for full time, year round work! We offer family benefits, 401k with a match and paid vacation.
In this position you will be working very independently. You will be interacting with the public, doing cash-handling and computer work, and handling labor-intensive tasks on-site. Must have excellent customer service, as well as the ability to stand and do physically demanding work throughout an 8 hour shift.
Responsibilities:
  • Greet and direct all customers and employees upon entry to the center
  • Supporting the buyback center with weighing, payments and sorting
  • Calculating payments for customers
  • Enter truck, car information into computer system
  • Ensuring that customers and employees conduct all business in a safe manner and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Data entry and answering phones as needed
  • Ensuring that incoming garbage loads are safe and do not contain any inappropriate material
  • Cleaning, sweeping and pressure washing equipment
  • Providing general upkeep of the Scale House
  • Heavy lifting of equipment and material
  • Learn to operate forklift and bobcat

Requirements:
  • Customer service skills and a great attitude
  • Cash handling experience
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to stand throughout an 8 hour shift
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs pounds
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
