Job Summary:
Our entry-level laborers are members of our frontline workforce and are actively engaged on the production floor and throughout our facility. Candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced, automated sawmill environment. Candidates must be able to work all shifts and pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug test. Successful candidate must be a good team player and hard worker.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Monitor equipment and lumber flow issues that would interrupt production.
Work with maintenance personnel to perform light preventative maintenance.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Walk and stand for long periods of time, bend, twist, kneel, stoop, and squat.
Ascend and descend stairs/ladders.
Required safety training is provided in both verbal and written form.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Must be a safety minded individual who is comfortable working in a production environment.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
The physical demands and work environment are representative of a typical sawmill environment. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. Noise level is moderate to high depending on the area of the mill. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. Requires close vision, distance vision, and depth perception. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
