Civil Laborer

Oxbow, Oregon | Full-Time

IMCO General Construction is seeking experienced Laborers to join our team on a heavy construction project in Oxbow, Oregon.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform labor work safely and efficiently on heavy civil construction projects.
  • May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and various other equipment and instruments.
  • May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, and clean up rubble, debris, and other waste materials.
  • Assist other craft workers and field crews as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Follow all IMCO and project-specific safety requirements.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of construction labor experience
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans and drawings.
  • Ability to safely operate applicable hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying and adverse weather conditions.
  • Commitment to teamwork, safe work practices, quality, and integrity.
  • Must successfully complete required pre-employment drug screening.
  • Must successfully complete required criminal background check.

Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding position performed primarily on an active construction site. Employees must be able to:

  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, squat, push, pull, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the work shift.
  • Safely lift and carry construction materials, tools, and equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Work outdoors in heat, sun, cold, snow, rain, dust, dirt, and other construction-site conditions.
  • Use the manual dexterity necessary to safely operate hand and power tools and perform carpentry work.
  • Work around construction materials and chemicals commonly encountered on heavy civil construction projects.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting Pay: $34- 36 per hour, depending on experience.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance available the first day of the month following 60 days of employment.
  • 401(k) available to eligible employees on the first of the month following 60 days of employment.
  • IMCO provides a 100% company match on employee contributions up to 4% of eligible wages.
  • IMCO may provide an RV site with hookups. A stipend may also be available for employees who bring their own RV or travel trailer

Location & Work Schedule

  • Project Location: Oxbow, Oregon.
  • 8–10-hour shifts.
  • Overtime may be available based on project needs.
  • Evening and weekend work may be necessary to meet project schedules and milestones.
