Temporary Wastewater Laborer
Pay: $19.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday
Hours: 7:00am - 3:30pm

Position Summary
Join our team for a temporary, hands-on role assisting with essential wastewater operations throughout our beautiful city. As a Wastewater Laborer, you'll be part of a crew supporting FDE cleaning, inspections, and power washing tasks. This position offers a unique opportunity to work outdoors, gain valuable experience, and contribute to the maintenance of our city's infrastructure. Training will be provided for all required tasks. This position is temporary, running from April through July, with the possibility of extension through August for exceptional performers.

Essential Job Duties
  • Assist with FDE cleaning operations, including placing cameras in holes and manholes for inspection
  • Support power washing stations for cleaning and maintenance
  • Perform flagging duties as required for traffic control and safety
  • Assist with driving the crew truck (training provided)
  • Travel throughout the city, along creeks, and in or around the lake to assist the Wastewater Department
  • Work collaboratively with a partner or group on various tasks
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines
Requirements
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all terrains and weather conditions — including hills, forested areas, blackberries/thorns, rain, heat, or cold.
  • Must pass:
    • UA drug test (including THC)
    • MVR check
    • Background check
  • Clean-cut, professional demeanor — you may be working in or near residential yards.
  • Must provide your own steeltoe boots. (All other gear—gloves, rain gear, etc.—will be supplied.)
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Flagger certification preferred, but not required.
