Shop Laborer - GFRC Production
Oltre Castings & Design • Salem, Oregon
$18 - $24 / hour
Full-Time | On-Site | Monday-Friday
What You Get
• Competitive pay with room to grow - we reward skill development, not just seniority
• Starting pay $18/hr with a documented skill-tier ladder - advance through clearly-defined skill milestones, not time on the clock
• Real promotion path - our current Operations Manager started as a shop laborer. We promote from within.
• 401(k) retirement plan with company match up to 3%
• Paid sick leave and paid vacation
• Supplemental insurance available
• PPE, tools, and safety gear fully provided - nothing out of pocket
• Day-one safety training
• Year-round work - no hard seasonal shutdowns
• Indoor shop - clean, organized, well-lit. No outdoor jobsite weather.
• Premium craftsmanship - high-end custom concrete pieces for luxury homes across the country
• Small team, real impact - your work matters here
Why Oltre?
Oltre Castings & Design manufactures premium cast stone fireplace surrounds and custom architectural concrete for luxury homes across the country. We're a Salem-based company that has grown every year since 2021. Our current Operations Manager started on the shop floor as a laborer - that's the model we invest in. If you take pride in building something with your hands and want to be part of a company where your craftsmanship actually matters, this is the place.
What You'll Do
Full-time shop role at Oltre Castings & Design supporting our GFRC production line. Responsibilities include mixing, pouring, demolding, general shop duties, and keeping the job site clean and organized.
Day-to-Day
• Mix and batch materials, including fibers and concrete pigment
• Operate and clean mixing equipment
• Assist with spraying
• Clean tools, molds, and work areas after spraying and pouring
• Operate forklifts and cranes to move cast and finished products into assigned areas of
the facility
• Move products and materials safely
• Assist with demolding after casting
• Assist with the installation of finished products
What We're Looking For
• Reliable and punctual - that's #1
• Willing to learn and pitch in wherever needed
• Able to follow instructions and recipes precisely.
• Hands-on work experience - construction, manufacturing, production shop,
masonry, or similar - strongly preferred. Experienced applicants get priority. This isn't
an entry-level "first job" role. We're growing a skilled shop, and experienced hands
move to the top of the pile.
Don't check every box? If you're reliable, willing to learn, and take pride in your work,
we'll train the right person. Apply anyway.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and crouch throughout the shift
• Ability to lift 50-100 lbs occasionally
• Must be able to differentiate colors (cannot be color blind)
