Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Laboratory/Technical Assistant for the Department of Biochemistry and Microbiology. Under the direction of Dr. Dominguez- Bello, the part-time technician will play a key role in supporting clinical research and laboratory operations.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Conducts technical operations related to the study of the human vaginal microbiome.
  • Receives and processes samples for sequencing, ensuring accurate labeling, tracking, and preparation according to protocol.
  • Aliquots samples for sequencing while maintaining proper handling, storage conditions, and conducting quality control checks to ensure sample integrity.
  • Prepares research materials, manage IRB processes including compliance tracking, and coordinate the preparation of study kits and supplies for sample collection and analysis.
  • Assists in setting performance benchmarks, selecting methods and tools for experiments, and coordinating lab activities related to analysis, biochemistry, and physiology to ensure the research aligns with the principal investigator's lab goals.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
