Job description

Seasonal Laboratory Assistant – Lincoln, NE


SUMMARY STATEMENT

AgSource is seeking a Seasonal Laboratory Assistant to accurately prepare, conduct and report sample analyses according to approved standard operating procedures (SOP) and quality control guidelines. Ensure testing services are conducted within anticipated laboratory turn-times. Maintaining good attendance is a condition of employment and an essential function of your job. This position is hiring for multiple shift schedules: 1st (6am-2pm) 2nd (12pm-8pm).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accurately prepare sample analyses according to laboratory SOP for designated tests to ensure quality results.
  • Calibrate basic laboratory instrumentation according to laboratory SOP.
  • Thoroughly complete appropriate documentation.
  • Report results of analysis in a timely manner according to standard laboratory turn-times.
  • Perform routine laboratory procedures such as, cleaning of labware and laboratory workspaces.
  • Promote and adhere to safety in the workplace.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Follow safe work procedures and report unsafe conditions and injuries immediately.
  • Inspect own work area and take approved remedial action to minimize or eliminate hazards.
  • Complete required safety training assignments, forms and paperwork.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven organizational and time management skills.
  • Detail orientated nature.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Scheduling flexibility and ability to work overtime as needed based on workflow and deadlines.
