About the Role
Sonic Healthcare USA is seeking a Senior Compliance Audit Specialist to support and enhance our Compliance Program within the WSW Division. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented compliance professional with strong expertise in laboratory billing, regulatory oversight, and data analytics. You will play a critical role in identifying risk, strengthening internal controls, and ensuring adherence to federal and state healthcare regulations.
This opportunity is full time located at 9200 Wall Street Austin, TX 78754.
In this role, you will:
  • Conduct compliance audits and monitoring activities across clinical and billing operations
  • Support the annual compliance risk assessment and work plan development
  • Analyze data to identify trends, risks, and compliance gaps
  • Audit revenue cycle functions (ABNs, charge master, denials, standing orders)
  • Review Medicare guidelines including CCI edits, MUEs, LCDs/NCDs
  • Develop and maintain auditing tools within XiFin and other systems
  • Track and evaluate corrective actions and remediation effectiveness
  • Perform on-site laboratory and phlebotomy compliance inspections
  • Support investigations, hotline activities, and compliance reporting
  • Deliver Compliance and HIPAA training across the organization
  • Travel: ~25% (one week/month)

All you need is:
  • Bachelor's degree (Healthcare Compliance, Health Sciences, or related field preferred)
  • 3+ years of healthcare compliance and/or medical billing experience
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory billing and Medicare regulations
  • Experience with XiFin or similar billing systems
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities

  • CHC, CPC, or equivalent certification
  • Laboratory operations experience
