Job description

Outlook Group is looking for an experienced, hands-on Label Department Lead to be the technical expert and go-to leader on our narrow-web label floor. In this role you will set the standard for how our presses run - coaching operators, driving faster and cleaner make-readies, leading 6S and housekeeping, and solving the toughest print, color, and finishing challenges.
You will work with the equipment that prints the quality labels we are known for - Mark Andy 4150s and MPS narrow-web flexo presses - producing pressure-sensitive, peel-and-reseal, and variable-data labels for industries including food and beverage, personal care, and consumer healthcare.
Shift
  • 1st shift - Monday through Friday
  • Overtime required at times to support department workload

What You Will Do
  • Be the department's technical subject matter expert and go-to troubleshooter for press, print quality, color, registration, die-cutting, and finishing issues
  • Train, coach, and mentor press and utility operators to build skill and consistency across the team
  • Lead make-ready and changeover improvements to cut setup time, reduce waste, and reach first-good-part faster
  • Drive 6S and housekeeping standardization on the label floor - visual controls, organized tooling, and sustained standards
  • Set and maintain best-practice operating standards for ink color, viscosity, web tension, and press speed
  • Ensure jobs meet customer quality specifications and support root-cause and corrective action efforts
  • Lead by example on safety; correct unsafe conditions and reinforce PPE, guarding, and safe chemical handling
  • Run presses and provide hands-on coverage as needed to keep the department on schedule

What You Will Bring
  • 5+ years of experience operating narrow-web flexographic presses (Mark Andy 4150s and/or MPS preferred)
  • Strong expertise in make-ready, color management, die-cutting, and press troubleshooting
  • Experience as a lead, trainer, or senior operator who others turn to for answers
  • Familiarity with lean/6S and continuous improvement is a strong plus
  • Digital label printing experience (e.g., HP Indigo) is a plus, but not required
  • Strong attention to detail, solid communication, and good basic math skills
  • Reliable, safety-minded, and a great work ethic
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
