Slitting / Lamination Machine Operators needed in Northlake, Illinois!
Kelly Services is seeking experienced Slitting/Lamination Machine Operators in Northlake, IL. Candidates must have slitter operator experience and must have worked in a food packaging or plastics manufacturing environment.

Shifts and pay available:
Day Shift pay: $22.50/hr.
7 am – 7pm (will work 3 days one week, 4 the next. Will work every other weekend)
Night Shift pay: $24/hr.
7 pm – 7am (will work 3 nights one week, 4 the next. Will work every other weekend)
Responsibilities
  • Perform routine operational duties and general maintenance
 
  • Achieve line standards, without sacrificing quality and/or safety
 
  • Identify quarantine and correct film that is substandard
 
  • Complete and maintain daily production/quality reports
 
  • Print and accurately label rolls according to specifications (size, material type, gauge, shift, and operator number)
 
  • Package finished laminate
 
  • Make bails and band material
 
  • Cut the cores according to length specifications
  • Utilize utility knife to cut-off waste material, trim and finish/package laminate
  • rolls in accordance with machine cycle and quality specifications
 
  • Operate hoist and/or fork truck to load and unload rolls; Conduct hoist
  • inspections each shift to ensure safe operation
 
  • Complete hour-by-hour chart, Kaizen newspapers and other documentation
  • in accordance with Lean principles
 
  • Keep assigned area clean according to Lean principles

Qualifications/Experience
  • HS Diploma/GED required
  • Must have slitting and lamination experience
  • Machine operator experience in a manufacturing environment (set ups, basic troubleshoots). Must be able to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment
  • Must have sit down forklift experience
  • Slitter operator experience, worked in a food packaging or plastics manufacturing environment
