Lab Assistant (Full-time)

Position Summary:
This is a full-time position as a Lab Assistant in a Clinical laboratory. The ideal candidate has great management skills, high attention to detail, and a drive to help patients. This opportunity is the perfect place to grow your career and deliver lifesaving test results. Responsibilities will include processing blood, urine and stool specimens for both, in-house laboratory testing, and send out testing.

Scheduled Shift: Monday to Friday; 06:00 p.m. to 02:30 a.m.

We're looking for reliable staff. Successful candidates will go through a 3-month probation period; attendance is crucial.

Expectations:

  • Display attention to detail.
  • Prioritize quality patient care.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Punctual - Arrive on time for work. Adhere to attendance policy.
  • Flexible - Able to work overtime or change shifts as needed.
  • Must have leadership skills.

Duties:

  • Processor will enter laboratory orders, receive, aliquot, and label accurately.
  • Perform all CLIA Waived testing: Urinalysis, Urine Pregnancy, Sed Rates, C.diff, Fecal Occult Blood.
  • Successfully enters patient orders accurately - Laboratory test knowledge a plus.
  • Prepares Send out testing: checking off Packing Lists, creates shipment, prepares samples using resources.
  • Finds add-on and missed testing in inventoried sample racks for Lab Techs.
  • Prepares Supply orders for facilities as requested and creates orders for courier pick-up.
  • Professionally and politely answer customer phone calls regarding testing, orders, and results.
  • Stock supplies, maintain workstation cleanliness.
  • Wear proper laboratory attire.

Qualifications:

  • Prior Experience in the Health Care Industry is Mandatory
  • High school or equivalent

Experience:

  • Clinical laboratory: 1 year (Preferred)

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
