Position Summary
Direct supervision by a preceptor to develop technical and professional skills through observation and hands on demonstration.


Essential Functions
• Performs diagnostic imaging procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation.
• Positions patient, equipment, associated devices and manipulates technical factors to achieve high quality images for
interpretation.
• Utilizes critical thinking skills to recognize patients' physical limitations pertaining to age specific needs.
• Delivers appropriate patient care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures.
• Identify, acquire, and document pertinent patient history relative to procedures.
• Develop ability to assess Radiographic Images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring all
relative anatomy is demonstrated.
• Applies principles of radiation safety to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
• Applies appropriate standard of precautions and personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent cross-contamination of
communicable disease.
• Develops proficiency in contrast material and adverse reactions to contrast media.
• Adhere to Baptist Health policy, procedures, protocols, mission statements and commitment to excellence standards.
• Learn the necessary skills required of a licensed Baptist Health Radiologic Technologist so that they will be equipped to work
independently upon graduation and successful completion of introductory period.
• Develop necessary skills to utilize all Corporate Radiology computer systems (EPIC, PACS) effectively and accurately.
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Baptist Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state,
and local standards.
• Complies with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.
• Maintains compliance with all Baptist Health policies and procedures.


Other Related Functions
• Follows established image processing techniques and procedures.
• Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment.
• Maintains well-stocked and organized work areas.
• Works evenings, overnights, and weekends as scheduled.
• May be required to work at any Baptist Health facility.
• Performs other duties as necessary to assure customer satisfaction.
• Provides patient transport


Education/Training
Must be enrolled in Senior Year of Radiologic Technology accredited school.
Must have pre-approval from school to apply to internship.


Licensure/Certification
BLS/Healthcare Provider certification within 3 months of hire.
