Torch Technologies Inc., is seeking a motivated Mid-Level Linux System Administrator that can work with a diverse team to monitor, update, and support a digital simulation lab. Seeking a candidate with a strong background in Linux, networking, and security. Knowledge with a configuration management focus is a plus. Candidates will perform firmware updates, software updates, network configurations, and standing up new systems. This lab supports an independent test platform for the THAAD weapons system.

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Installation, configuration, and maintenance of system hardware and software on multiple Linux platforms to include RHEL 7-10.
  • Network switch configuration and maintenance.
  • Provide support for systems and users.
  • Complete cybersecurity scans for the lab systems.
  • Provide troubleshooting support for hardware and software.
  • Manage user accounts on classified systems using multi-factor authentication.
  • Performing system backups and restores.
  • As required, develop Plans of Action & Mitigation (POA&M) to document deviations from approved DISA STIG requirements.
  • Ability to step through automating Operating System builds (Ansible).
  • Must be familiar with populating DISA STIG checklists.
  • Must be familiar with DISA STIG tools and documents.
  • Must be familiar with Evaluate-STIG software for vulnerability scanning.

Job Requirements:

  • US Citizenship.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years related Linux systems administration experience. Classified lab networking and hardware knowledge.
  • Knowledge with a configuration management focus is a plus.
  • The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills both oral and written; exhibit the ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic, customer focused work environment.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Previous networks experience.
  • Linux+ and Security+ certifications.
  • Off Hours support will sometimes be required as mission dictates to support test events.
  • Must have an active secret security clearance.

Desired skills:

  • Previous experience in configuration management and automated Operating System build.
  • Strong Cybersecurity knowledge.
  • Ansible is also a plus.
