VMR Strategic Solutions is seeking a Test Lab System Administrator (Level II) to support our client. This position will be responsible for monitoring and tuning the system to achieve optimum performance levels. The administrator will ensure workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions. The administrator will also confirm data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.

Duties

  • Responsible for the installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of computer software.
  • Implement operating system enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the system.
  • Install, configure, operate, and maintain Windows system servers, web servers and database servers in support of business processing requirements
  • Install, configure, and maintain dedicated workstations (OS, software, applications).
  • Perform account and access management for multiple servers, specified applications and databases.
  • Schedule and perform software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages in accordance with Program Management Office guidelines and release announcements.
  • Monitor and tune the system to achieve optimum performance levels.
  • Ensure workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.
  • Ensure data/media recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
  • Develop and maintain test facility Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintain and support physical and virtual servers using Windows operating system and applications to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
  • Perform router and switch configuration and maintenance.

Qualifications

Required education and experience:

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree; an Associate’s degree with at least 6 years of experience; at least 60 semester hours of formal education working towards an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree and at least 6 years of experience; or 12 years of experience.
  • Requires current DoD 8570.01M IAT/IAM/IASAE Level II certification. Additional certifications (other than those required for the position) in the area of specialization may be substituted for 1 year of experience. The degree must be in a relevant technical curriculum and experience must be related to the job duties.
  • This position requires an active Secret security clearance on hire date with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance. Current TS/SCI is desired.
  • Requires current Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II certification on hire date with the ability to obtain and maintain ACAS and Host Base Security Systems (HBSS) certifications. Current ACAS and HBSS certifications are desired.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Windows servers. Linux and/or Solaris server experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining both physical and virtual servers.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Windows Active Directory servers is desired.
  • Experience working Cisco firewall and F5 load balancer/application filter configuration/maintenance is desired.
  • Knowledge or experience working with DISA / DoD is desired.
