Job description

Product Support Engineer is a key member of a cross-disciplinary team in supporting the operational maintenance of Safran Actuation systems. The Product Support Engineer will be driving the design of test benches, jigs and tools necessary for the maintenance of these products. As well as, ensuring the maintenance of the Actuators are up to the Safran standard and specification.

Essential Job Functions
  • Provide Technical Support/Assistance related to Aeronautic repair station; interact and collaborate with cross-functional teams, operations, quality, program management, suppliers and customers to resolve problems and implement solutions.
  • Prepare, Write and Review, technical documentation.
  • Perform operational, maintenance, or testing procedures for mechanical products, components, equipment or systems.
  • Perform and Validate First Article Inspection involving Quality and Shop Managers for new capability.
  • Provide/Validate documentation to implement new capability to the company.
  • Modify and upgrade existing test equipment and tools to improve the maintenance process.
  • Provide input and guidance to designs and development of test equipment and tools.
  • Perform product troubleshooting and lab testing.
  • Verify tool design meets the requirements and expectations.
  • Manage the line stoppage related to engineering.
  • Plan and Follow up action plan with Program Manager over performance and target.
  • Ensure the timely and efficient completion of projects to achieve the company's strategic and financial goals.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of internal processes and methods and tools.
  • Ensures work complies with company policies and processes.
  • Other duties may be as assigned. In addition to the above, they will have expanded knowledge of products and design in an assigned area. Understand and carry out the product maintenance process. Design and update test equipment based on technical specification and data. Responsible for creating and updating technical manuals. Submit requests for corrections and updates to the maintenance manual. Create the disassembly/assembly procedure based on technical data. Training technicians on the maintenance of new products. Ability to interpret and generate engineering drawings. Demonstrate ability to think critically and support in identifying the root cause.
Technical Details for T1 and T2
  • T1: Works under supervision and direction from Senior Engineer. Maintaining and validating test equipment with support from Senior Engineer. Work with Senior Engineers to design and update test equipment. Perform product troubleshooting and lab testing under guidance from Senior Engineer. Review newly released technical publication to maintain process compliance.
  • T2: Will perform the above with moderate supervision from senior engineer. Maintaining and validating test equipment based on schematics and drawings. Design and update test equipment based on technical specification and data. Perform product troubleshooting and lab testing and convert test reports to usable data to be analyze. Review and analyze newly released technical publication and ensuring the maintain process is within compliance.
Education/Experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited institution required
Typical experience

2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
