A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a R&D Lab Support Technician
Position type: Full-time, Contract
Duration:  6 months with possible extension
Location:  Houston, Texas 77050
Position Summary
Step into the heart of innovation as an R&D Lab Support Technician, where your hands-on expertise helps bring ideas to life. In this dynamic role, you’ll be the backbone of laboratory operations ensuring everything from sample preparation to test setup runs seamlessly.
Working side-by-side with R&D engineers and lab technicians, you’ll play a key role in keeping experiments moving, workspaces organized, and processes efficient. Your contribution will directly support cutting-edge mechanical and material testing, all while championing a culture of safety, quality, environmental responsibility, and integrity.
What You’ll Do

• Bring tests to life by preparing samples cleaning, labeling, organizing, and staging them for action.
• Support the lab floor by assisting with test setups, teardowns, and equipment changeovers.
• Keep operations flowing by moving materials, fixtures, and equipment across lab zones safely and efficiently.
• Act as a behind-the-scenes organizer by maintaining structured material flow and lab readiness.
• Help capture the story of every test with basic documentation and data recording support.
• Take pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized laboratory environment.
• Be an extra set of eyes by performing basic equipment checks and flagging any irregularities.
• Follow and promote best-in-class safety, environmental, and operational standards.
• Collaborate with the team to provide day-to-day support, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted lab workflows.
• Use precision tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify and measure with accuracy.

What You Bring to the Table

• A high school diploma (or GED); technical training or lab exposure is a bonus.
• Any prior experience in a lab, manufacturing, or industrial setting will set you apart.
• Confidence in handling tools, materials, and samples in a technical environment.
• A natural mechanical inclination and willingness to work with hand tools.
• Basic computer know-how, including data entry and documentation in Windows applications.
• A sharp eye for detail and the ability to follow instructions with precision.
• A collaborative mindset you thrive in team-oriented environments.
• Physical readiness to stay active standing, walking, and handling materials throughout the day.

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range*:  $25.00 - $26.92 per hour
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
