Position Summary:

Hiring Salary: $14.00

This position monitors and coordinates the activities of and provides support and assistance to assigned laboratories to enable effective and safe lab operations.

Job Duties

  • Assists lab assistants and supports faculty and students regarding appropriate use of equipment and lab procedures mixing chemicals; troubleshoots problems.
  • If appropriate, set up and take down labs for class. Cleans and stocks materials.
  • Provides necessary materials and equipment required for effective laboratory instruction and experiments.
  • Assists faculty with the preparation of lab materials (mixing chemicals) and lab tests
  • Monitors and coordinates lab activities; trains and/or provides guidance to part-time lab technicians and student assistants.
  • Maintains safe and clean working conditions in the lab.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Prepare specimens for laboratory use. Maintain lab equipment as needed; maintenance and keep supplies stocked as needed.
  • Performs similar and related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Associates degree and two years of experience working in a science, chemistry or medical laboratory. Must be able to work some evening and weekends.
