Position Summaryย 

We are seeking a Solventless Lab Manager to lead our solventless extraction operations and production team. This role blends hands-on technical expertise with leadership, compliance oversight, and process innovation. As Lab Manager, you will ensure the efficient, safe, and quality-focused production of solventless concentrates (e.g., live rosin, ice water hash, static hash), while upholding Dragonfly Wellnessโ€™s mission to prioritize patient wellbeing and product excellence.ย 

This role is ideal for someone with prior experience operating extraction labs, a strong commitment to compliance and safety, and a drive to innovate within the medical cannabis industry. Your desire to bring a high level of craft quality hash making will help drive our brand into becoming one of the premium solventless companies in the nation. ย 

Core Responsibilitiesย 

Operational Leadershipย 

  • Manage day-to-day solventless lab operations, ensuring consistent production flow, scheduling, and resource allocation.ย 
  • Oversee the collection, sorting, processing, and finishing of solventless extracts, maintaining high yield and quality standards.ย 
  • Collaborate with cultivation and other processing teams to optimize feedstock quality for extraction.ย 

Quality, Compliance & Safetyย 

  • Maintain strict adherence to all state regulatory requirements for medical cannabis processing (quality control, labeling, inventory tracking).ย 
  • Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for cleanliness, safety (OSHA standards), and best laboratory practices.ย 
  • Ensure all products meet internal and external quality, purity, and safety standards before release.ย 

Team Developmentย 

  • Train, mentor, and lead lab technicians and assistants, fostering a culture of continuous learning, problem-solving, and improvement.ย 
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and support professional growth.ย 

Innovation & Continuous Improvementย 

  • Experiment with new solventless techniques and technologies to improve product quality and operational efficiency.ย 
  • Document and refine processes to scale production while maintaining consistency and integrity of products.ย 

Cross-Functional Collaborationย 

  • Work closely with Quality Assurance, Compliance, Supply Chain, and Retail teams to align production goals with demand forecasts and patient needs.ย 
  • Partner with leadership to develop production forecasts, capacity plans, and operational budgets.ย 

Qualificationsย 

Requiredย 

  • 3+ years of experience in cannabis extraction labs or related botanical/process labs, with a strong preference for solventless operations.ย 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage processes, equipment, and small teams effectively.ย 
  • Deep understanding of safety standards, quality control principles, and regulatory compliance in a lab setting.ย 
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.ย 
  • Passion for cannabis medicine quality, patient outcomes, and industry innovation.ย 

Preferredย 

  • Experience with solventless extraction equipment (rosin presses, ice water hash systems, sifting screens). Mechanical or plasmastatic separation a bonus.ย 
  • Familiarity with Utahโ€™s medical cannabis regulatory environment.ย
