Job description

Supervise laboratory activities including scheduling of personnel and equipment, tracking performance metrics according to plan, and resolving issues as needed. Provide testing and evaluation of commercial and residential doors, Operators, and other Access devices and integrated door/operator systems. Company travel up to 10% may be required at times.

  • Minimum of associate’s degree from an accredited university, electronics and mechanical experience, trade school graduate or equivalent military experience. 

Skills/Experience Requirements:

  • A minimum of five years’ experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment in a product testing, verification, or calibration role.  Experience working in an ISO certified environment a plus. 
  • Expert knowledge in specification and setup of various test equipment.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience working with automated test systems. Software programming experience a plus. 
  • Proven self-starter with analytical and problem-solving ability with willingness to learn new skills and train team members where needed.
  • Strong focus on working in a team environment or as individual with excellent oral and written communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and organizational ability.  
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and internet applications (Webex, Zoom).

Physical/Work Environment Requirements

  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 60 lbs.
  • Must use appropriate PPE (shoes, eye protection) daily.
