As an Analyst II in our Richmond, VA Lab,you'llbe responsible forassistingmultiple projects where you will haveincreasinginteraction with our multi-disciplinary staff, regulatoryagenciesand clients. You will be part ofa strong teamof committed professionals.

The compensation range for this role is $23.00 to $26.00,commensuratewith experience, skills, and geographic location.

Schedule: Monday - Friday

We are seeking a GC Analyst II who will perform in-lab analyses of environmental derived samples utilizing GC instrumentation. The Analyst is responsible for the maintenance and operation of lab equipment and will identify and quantitate client samples following established laboratory procedures. Strong organizational skills are a must for this position. To thrive in this role,you'llbe comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Preparation of samples for GC analysis in compliance with EPA and other governing body regulations
  • Analysis of samples by GC analysis in compliance with EPA and other governing body regulations
  • Preparation of reagents for lab useand/or shipment
  • Maintaining organized records of sample preparation and analysis
  • Overhead projects designed to improve efficiency of, or accuracy of analyses
  • Assisting the Group Leaders and analysts in acquiring and inventorying consumables, chemicals, and parts for instrumentation
  • Comply withOnterris Quality Assurance Program
  • Comply withOnterris Health and Safety Plan
  • Other duties as assigned by the Group Leader or Lab Director

  • BA/ BS Degree in Chemistry or Natural Science (or equivalent training)
  • 2 years' experience in an analytical chemistry environment/laboratory
  • KnowledgeStrong understanding of general lab practices and lab safety
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Good organizational skills and strong communication skills
  • Must pass screen drug testing
  • Proficient in computers and database software
  • Knowledge of general lab practices and lab safety
  • Able to multi-task and communicate effectively (both oral and written)
