6510-Histology - LMG - Lab Accessioner

DEPARTMENT:             Laboratory                                           

JOB SUMMARY:          Performs registration and accessioning of all pathology specimens.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a chemical or biological science preferred.

JOB RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Reports directly to Laboratory Supervisor

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged sitting
  • Repetitive hand, wrist and shoulder motion
  • Lifting up to 25 lbs. occasionally
  • Detail oriented

  • Responsible for accurate data entry skills

  • Must be accurate and productive
  • Must adhere to all department protocols and procedures.
  • Must be reliable, dependable and have an excellent attendance history.
  • Must be a team player
  • Monitors and reports immediately to management any issue with incoming specimens.
  • Participates in special projects and/or assignments as requested by Manager /Director.

PROFESSIONAL:

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to do detailed multi-tasks.
  • Ability to deal effectively and professionally with others.
  • Working knowledge of office equipment.
