Highlights:
Summary: Provides phlebotomy expertise, decision making, and problem solving skills based on in-depth knowledge of phlebotomy procedures. Performs the collection, receipt in computer, processing, and delivery of patient specimens for tests performed by the laboratory.
Education / Experience:High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an approved phlebotomy training program or one year of proven experience in Hospital, Reference, or Physician Office Lab required.
License / Certification: None
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Exceptional customer service skills and proficiency in utilization of personal computer skills.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
Position requires frequent prolonged standing/walking.
Requires occasional lifting of supplies/equipment up to 25 lbs.
There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person, continuously exhibiting manual dexterity and mobility; frequently reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching; continuous ability to see clearly at 20 inches or less, to judge distance and space relationships; to bring objects into focus; and to distinguish and identify different colors.
