Job description

At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology.

Come be a part of what's next. The Team The Business Security Partner (BSP) team delivers a balanced approach to securing and enabling our business based on the unique context in each business area. The Business Security Partner team sits within the Security, Privacy and Assurance team at Netflix.

We enable Netflix to pragmatically address top security risks while maintaining business agility, velocity and scale. The BSP team manages the picture of risk in their stakeholders' ecosystem, secures business workflows and technical environments, and delivers targeted awareness. Things move fast at Netflix, and this team is essential to driving strong alignment that addresses critical risks.

We're looking for our next Security Partner to lead security conversations between the Security team and our Studios. The Role We are seeking a highly-experienced, strategic security leader to identify and solve complex problems. The Business Security Partner, L6 role will serve as the overarching risk advisor for our internal studios.

This role requires a shift from tactical execution to strategic approaches, identifying technical gaps and opportunities across all studio solutions and teams. This role will partner closely with Content Security on shared initiatives to protect pre-release and high-value content is protected across the entire content supply chain. This role will also be responsible for designing scalable , paved-road security architectures that meet Netflix's baseline requirements as well as the strict compliance needs of external entertainment partners.

This role will also involve providing critical security guidance for our GenMedia initiatives, ensuring content creation and editing processes are secure from design to deployment. The role will be instrumental in anchoring security controls tailored to the risks of the GenMedia platforms. Netflix has a unique and innovative culture that guides us to do things differently.

This helps keep velocity high and means that our security team needs to operate differently from a traditional security team. At Netflix, we put "People over Process" - We hire unusually responsible people who thrive on this openness and freedom. Instead of controlling our stakeholders with process and security gates, we enable them to securely create great content by providing security context to make the right decisions for Netflix.

Key Responsibilities: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders. Identify and solve for the most critical and complex risks impacting the studio ecosystem, resulting in broad impact throughout the Engineering and Content organizations. Strategically align security initiatives with the unique creative workflows of each business unit, effectively driving down risk while supporting business growth.

Lead broad technical projects, such as the deployment of secure workstations and pre-release content data segmentation. Develop and manage the overall Business Risk Profile for Netflix studios, enabling leadership to make informed risk-based decisions and lowering the risk profile over time. Advise on GenAI risks within the ecosystem.

Drive adoption of organization-wide security measures owned by Security, Privacy and Assurance (SPA) within the internal studios; and draft exceptions or risk acceptance when the business cannot comply. Mentor, sponsor, and grow members of BSP and SPA across technical, organizational, cultural and communication skills; especially emphasizing specialized expertise. Ideal Background: To be successful in this role, you'll need to have the following skills: You demonstrate courage and strong judgement by taking a strategic approach to solving highly-complex and ambiguous technical problems.

You have an exceptional ability to communicate your work clearly to both highly-technical and non-technical audiences, including broad company forums. You effectively collaborate cross-functionally, navigating dissent and negotiating priorities to scale impact across your scope. You have deep technical expertise in studio and content production environments, understanding the nuances between stages, labs, and VFX workflows.

You create conditions for individuals to thrive, consistently role-modeling Netflix values and behaviors. You act as a leader, cultivating technical vision in others and breaking down large problems into pieces that others can lead. Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses.

You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $530,000.00 - $920,000.00

This compensation range will vary based on location. Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs.

Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off. Full-time salaried employees are immediately entitled to flexible time off. See more details about our Benefits here.

Netflix is a unique culture and environment. Learn more here. Inclusion is a Netflix value and we strive to host a meaningful interview experience for all candidates.

If you want an accommodation/adjustment for a disability or any other reason during the hiring process, please send a request to your recruiting partner. We are an equal-opportunity employer and celebrate diversity, recognizing that diversity builds stronger teams. We approach diversity and inclusion seriously and thoughtfully.

We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, ancestry, national origin, caste, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or expression, age, disability, medical condition, pregnancy, genetic makeup, marital status, or military service. Job is open for no less than 7 days and will be removed when the position is filled.
