TITLE AND CLASSIFICATION: Business Development Manager, Translational Oncology Solutions
REPORTING LOCATION: South Korea, Remote
REPORTING MANAGER Head of Business Development, Asia
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES: The Business Development Associate/Manager is a fast-paced, competitive role, responsible for identifying and developing new opportunities within our Translational Oncology Solutions offering. The BD Associate/Manager will work closely with commercial, marketing, R&D and operation teams to lead business development efforts in Asia. The ideal candidate will have a firm understanding of oncology research and market dynamics. The candidate will also possess a strong ability to carry out scientific discussions with senior researchers within biopharma and discuss the use of research services provided by Champions Oncology. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated and driven individual who is goal-oriented, methodical, tenacious, and can effectively interact with a team at all levels.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Executes business development initiatives and achieves annual sales targets for territory.
  • Identifies key prospective clients and perform strategic, scientific, tailored outreach to increase new business and expand existing accounts within designated territory.
  • Provides appropriate guidance to client to align Champions products and solutions to their needs
  • Independently qualifies, prioritizes and manages opportunities throughout sale cycle
  • Establishes and cultivates client relationships by maintaining frequent contact and responding to client requests in a timely and detailed fashion.
  • Generates and manages statement of works for designated territory from drafting to approval.
  • Provides weekly sales activity reports.
  • Leverages Champions' capabilities and differentiation frameworks to provide unique solutions to partners
  • Collaborates with companywide personnel to achieve superior customer satisfaction.
  • Organizes, prepare, and hosts client meetings.
  • Leads client presentations based on specific client needs
  • Uses CRM to manage internal communication and maintain detailed documentation for each account and sales opportunity within territory.
  • Responsible for opportunity management and accurate pipeline forecasting.
  • Collaborates effectively with Medical Affairs, R&D, project leadership and operation teams at Champions Oncology to bring potential opportunities to their attention and to identify and win studies.
  • Stays abreast of scientific development in oncology and IO, as well as internal product development.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Relevant experience in the biopharma industry with comprehensive understanding of drug discovery and development and a broad knowledge of the biopharma and healthcare sector.
  • At least 3-5 years relevant experience working in and a deep knowledge of the oncology and immuno-oncology therapeutic area.
  • Business development or related experience and an established network in the biopharmaceutical industry preferred
  • Solid understanding of drug development process and pre-clinical research.
  • Passion for improving patient lives.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, critical-thinking, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly developed organizational skills, operational skills, and ability to understand the content of and memorialize interactions of potential partners.
  • Self-motivated, attention to detail, and proven ability to work well on teams.
  • Exceptional recent PhD graduates or Postdoctoral researchers who demonstrate strong scientific expertise, commercial aptitude, and the potential to develop into a business development role may also be considered. Candidates who do not meet the Manager-level experience requirements may be considered for a Business Development Associate position.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Doctorate in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field.
  • Advanced industry knowledge
  • Ability to manage difficult client and/or financial situations
  • Ability to differentiate Champions from competitors
  • Demonstrated ability to acquire and grow client base
