Role Overview

The Business Operations Manager is a strategic leadership role at the center of how Canopy A&D runs as a platform. Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, this role owns platform-wide operational execution,  performance reporting, M&A integration, and develops the standardized operating model that allows Canopy A&D's operating companies to scale. This is a high-visibility role with regular interaction with the executive team. The ideal candidate embraces ambiguity, and can lead multiple complex, cross-functional workstreams end-to-end with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build platform-level systems and processes that establish a standardized operating model across the operating companies
  • Lead strategic initiatives and operational projects that enable Canopy A&D to scale
  • Lead M&A operational integration including ERP adoption, and systems/process consolidation
  • Own all corporate metrics and lead monthly and quarterly reporting cycles across the platform
  • Own the end-to-end creation and rollout of functional standard operating procedures across the operating companies
  • Manage platform investments and track return on investment
  • Advise platform and company leadership on how to operate efficiently
Required Qualifications
  • B.S. in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 6-9 years in program management, operations, engineering, or management consulting, preferably within a highly regulated manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage 6-8 workstreams end-to-end simultaneously
  • Advanced knowledge of AI tools
  • Proficiency with ERP systems
  • Advanced-level user of Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
  • Experience building materials for, and presenting directly to, executive leadership and investors
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA or master's degree in Business, Engineering Management, Operations, or a related technical field
  • Prior experience in a startup, private-equity-backed, or high-growth manufacturing environment with evolving systems and processes
  • Experience leading or supporting M&A integration, including systems and process harmonization across newly acquired entities
  • Experience working within A&D or similarly regulated industries (AS9100, ITAR/EAR etc.)
Additional Requirements
  • Must have professional working proficiency reading, writing, and speaking English
  • Ability to work in office, lab, and manufacturing environments with occasional exposure to noise, chemicals, dust, industrial equipment, and temperature variations
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a computer workstation
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for data entry, keyboarding, and mouse use
  • Ability to view computer screens for prolonged periods
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and via email
  • Abilityto use a computer to complete assignments
  • Willingness to work long hours and weekends when needed to meet critical deadlines
  • Willingness to travel to other Canopy A&D sites as needed

Base Salary Range: $150,000 to $170,000

Business Hours: Core Business Hours

Base Location: Irvine, CA - Full Time, On-Site

Travel: As needed to various company facilities

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Total compensation will also include a comprehensive set of benefits including but not limited to: Company paid employee medical, dental and vision insurance. 401K company match (eligibility required), paid sick leave, paid vacation, paid holidays and discretionary bonuses.
