This role also includes a targeted new-customer development component, requiring the Account Manager to build relationships with prospective clients, uncover business needs, and introduce Netagen solutions that create long-term value. Working closely with internal teams, the Account Manager serves as the primary point of contact for client inquiries and helps strengthen Netagen’s reputation for long-term partnership, customer satisfaction, and growth.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with assigned clients by understanding their business objectives, operational priorities, and evolving needs.
  • Conduct regular account reviews and client touchpoints to assess satisfaction, strengthen relationships, identify risks, and uncover renewal, retention, upsell, and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Grow account revenue by identifying and pursuing opportunities that align clients’ needs with Netagen's products and services.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, proactively addressing concerns, resolving issues, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Partner with internal teams, including Operations, Shared Organizational Services, Sales Design, and Sales Support, to coordinate service delivery and develop solutions that meet client requirements.
  • Manage account renewals, contract amendments, and service changes while ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and maintaining accurate account documentation.
  • Maintain current and accurate client, opportunity, pipeline, and activity records within CRM systems; prepare reports and forecasts as required.
  • Monitor client account health, identify potential risks to retention, and implement strategies to strengthen engagement and minimize churn.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, market conditions, competitor activity, and emerging technologies to provide relevant recommendations and insights to clients.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development, training, and industry events to maintain product knowledge and strengthen consultative selling capabilities.
  • Contribute to sales forecasting and business planning activities by maintaining accurate pipeline and account information
  • Achieve or exceed assigned revenue, renewal, and account growth objectives
  • Develop and execute account plans for key clients to support long-term growth, retention, and client success.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • University or College degree in business, marketing, sales or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years experience in account management, customer success, or inside sales, ideally within the technology or telecommunications industry
  • Bilingualism (English and French) considered an asset
  • Proven track record of maintaining client relationships and achieving sales or retention targets
  • Strong consultative and value-based selling capability, with experience uncovering business challenges, quantifying client impact, and positioning solutions around measurable outcomes.
  • Working knowledge of structured sales methodologies such as MEDDIC, MEDDPICC, Challenger Sale, SPIN Selling, Sandler, or similar qualification and opportunity-management frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability to prospect, qualify, and develop new customer opportunities while also expanding existing accounts through renewal, upsell, and cross-sell strategies.
  • Ability to build account plans, map stakeholders and decision processes, identify economic buyers, manage compelling events, and advance opportunities through a disciplined sales cycle.
  • Experience building and managing a qualified pipeline, maintaining accurate CRM data, tracking opportunity stages, and applying consistent next-step discipline.
  • Ability to forecast account growth, renewal risk, and new business opportunities using customer insights, activity metrics, and opportunity qualification criteria.
  • Confident communicator able to engage stakeholders at multiple levels, including technical contacts, business leaders, procurement teams, and executive decision-makers.
  • Skilled at discovery, active listening, objection handling, commercial negotiation, and presenting business cases that connect client needs to clear solution value.
  • Comfortable learning and selling technology, telecommunications, managed services, connectivity, collaboration, or related business solutions to commercial clients.
  • Ability to translate product, service, and market knowledge into client-specific recommendations that support retention, expansion, and long-term customer value.
