Hello, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora, , hallo, vitejte!

Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.

Where and how you can work

Our flagship office is in Sydney, Australia, but we've made our way from down under, to a hub in San Francisco, which is now home to our US operations. We offer flexibility in how and where you work. We trust our Canvanauts to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals.

What you'd be doing in this role

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

You're probably a match if

  • You have knowledge and experience with Python (or R) and SQL.

  • You have strong knowledge and experience on data analysis (e.g. intermediate-advanced level of Excel, Alteryx Certified, Tableau Prep, Knime, etc).

  • You have the soft skills & personal qualities that tend to make data analysts successful - attention to accuracy, interpreting data faithfully, speaking persuasively in public, and writing concisely and clearly.

  • You ideally have a grounding in mathematics/statistics or finance and a degree in a STEM area.

  • You've worked with financial data and finance teams, ideally at a company that has gone through an IPO.

We don't want you to just be a resource that answers questions - we want you to act as a genuine data partner with your team and the broader business. We have a LOT of data and need people who can use their skills to help us make the most of it!

You will become the Senior Data Scientist on the Finance Data & Analytics team who not only understands the financial data at Canva but also knows how to use it to make that data actionable. You will be supporting the Revenue accounting team to build reusable data assets and dashboards to support month/quarter end close activities.
