Job description

Knight Automotive Group is a family-owned and family-centric company built on integrity, accountability, and care for one another. For over 17 years, weโ€™ve proudly served our communities by providing end-to-end automotive solutions โ€” from sales and service to fleet and upfitting โ€” all under one roof. Our success starts with our people. We believe in creating an environment where team members feel supported, valued, and empowered to grow.

At Knight Automotive Group, we live by our Core Values: being accountable and taking great care of each other, always doing the right thing, focusing on our guests with empathy and helpfulness, staying respectful, genuine, and fun (โ€œthe sun, not the saltโ€), and never being satisfied โ€” always striving for improvement and excellence. Together, weโ€™re building a culture that wins through teamwork, continuous growth, and a shared commitment to doing things the right way.

The Quick Lane Manager is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations within the Quick Lane Service Department, including team management, customer satisfaction, productivity, and profitability. This role ensures the department runs efficiently while maintaining the Knight Automotive standard of quality and hospitality. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and leader with a passion for people, process, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, and manage the Quick Lane team, including Service Advisors, Technicians, and support staff.
  • Oversee daily service operations to ensure timely and high-quality maintenance and light repair work.
  • Monitor technician productivity, repair order accuracy, and overall workflow efficiency.
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through strong communication, follow-up, and problem resolution.
  • Manage appointment scheduling, shop capacity, and work distribution.
  • Ensure all services and recommendations are properly documented and communicated to customers.
  • Control department expenses, monitor gross profit, and achieve monthly performance objectives.
  • Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and manufacturer standards.
  • Coordinate with Parts, Accounting, and Main Service Departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Promote a positive and professional work environment that aligns with Knight Automotive Groupโ€™s Core Values โ€” accountability, integrity, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

What We Offer

  • Competitive and performance-driven pay structure
  • Health, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Paid time off (PTO), holidays, bereavement, maternity/paternity leave
  • Employee discounts on vehicles, parts, and service
  • Paid online and offsite hands-on training for continued professional development
  • Opportunities for career advancement within a growing, family-owned automotive group
  • A supportive, family-oriented culture built on teamwork, integrity, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of automotive service experience; 1+ year in a leadership or supervisory role preferred.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance and light repair operations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to manage a team and deliver high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Proficiency with dealership management systems (Dealertrack, CDK, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Financial and operational acumen to manage department profitability.
  • Professional appearance and commitment to customer care.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and clean driving record required.
