Associate Attorney – Global Transportation Finance (Los Angeles, CA)

Direct Counsel is partnering with a leading national law firm to identify an Associate Attorney with 2–5 years of transactional experience to join its Global Transportation Finance practice in Los Angeles. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-value transactions across the aviation, maritime, and broader transportation sectors for domestic and international clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent financial institutions, lessors, lenders, and operators in transportation finance transactions

  • Draft, review, and negotiate financing agreements and other commercial contracts

  • Assist partners and senior attorneys with cross-border and asset-backed transactions

  • Manage portions of deals with growing independence

  • Conduct due diligence and collaborate with clients, internal teams, and opposing counsel

Qualifications:

  • 2–5 years of transactional experience, ideally in corporate, finance, or asset-based transactions

  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills

  • Experience with aviation, maritime, equipment, or transportation finance is advantageous but not required

  • Admission to the California Bar (or eligibility to obtain)

  • Strong academic credentials and attention to detail

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base salary range: $235,000 – $365,000, depending on experience
