Job description

Who are we hiring?ย 

The Director of Knicks Basketball will be responsible for directing all aspects of the on-air game production of Knicks games on MSGN. The Director, in conjunction with the Producer of Knicks Basketball, will execute the creative vision and maintain the standard of quality of the Network for Knicks home and away telecasts, as well as directing any ancillary segments (i.e., pre-game, halftime, or post-game segments) considered part of the Network's game presentation.

The Director will manage and provide creative direction to the technical crew, work with the technical operations group to evaluate and maintain the quality and consistency of the home and road production crews, and serve as a liaison to league and team personnel to ensure that individual initiatives are met. The Director will also coordinate with the team's event presentation group to ensure that its creative needs are satisfied.

What will you do?

  • Responsible for directing all New York Knicks games on MSGN-pre-season, regular season, and post-season.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the telecasts align with the creative vision of and meet the quality standards expected from MSG Networks.
  • Oversee, manage, and provide effective, clear, creative direction for the home and road technical crews.
  • Responsible for creatively executing Network sales enhancements.
  • Attend and actively participate in game-day production meetings.
  • Responsible for coordinating with the team's event presentation group to ensure that team-related initiatives are effectively executed.
  • Responsible for representing the company in a positive, professional manner on team charters, in the production truck, and in meetings with league and team personnel.
  • Provide exceptional experiences for our guests, partners, and team members, including by adhering to our appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site. ย 

What do you need to succeed?

  • Minimum of 5 years basketball directing experience.
  • Proven ability to make split-second decisions under pressure.
