Job Description

What You'll Do as a Kitchen Supervisor:

As a Kitchen Supervisor a Westgate Resorts your first love is cooking and your second is leading great teams. The kitchen is your happy place Calculating the needs of your kitchen and balancing it all out with a fabulous guest experience is what you do. Every chef wants to hand the keys over to a strong leader like you. You will demonstrate Westgate's core values of Passion, Integrity, and Work Ethic in every interaction with guests and team members.

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines.
  • Lead and coordinate the activities of other kitchen Team Members during assigned shifts.
  • Ensure all food is prepared, stored, and served in compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
  • Monitor food quality, portion sizes, and plating consistency.
  • Assist with menu development, recipe testing, and cost control initiatives.
  • Train and support the culinary team in the finer points of cooking.
  • Build a strong team and stay courteous to all owners, guests and team members.
  • Order items and ensure proper preparation.
  • Act as the role model for all health codes and sanitation practices.
  • Provide on-shift leadership and support to team members to ensure smooth operations and exceptional guest service.
  • Assist with training and coaching team members while reinforcing company standards and procedures.
  • Support opening/closing procedures and shift execution, escalating concerns to management as needed.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Planning, assigning, and directing work.
  • Assisting in appraising performance and rewarding team members.
  • Addressing complaints and resolving problems. 
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications

What You'll Bring:

  • High school diploma or general education degree GED.
  • The Team Member must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Follow instructions without close supervision.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Required to pass a background screen, drug test, and prove eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Must complete state-approved alcohol server training within 60 days of hire (per South Carolina law).
