The Cabinet Installation Technician position is responsible for performing cabinet installation and helping with some service work on existing home and construction sites.
Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Cabinet related installation, carpentry and repair work
  • Hardware and cabinet trim installation
  • Inspect cabinetry and products for damage prior to install
  • Make a follow-up list of all items to be completed after install is complete
  • Report deficiencies with supervisor
  • Remove trash from jobsite when tasks are completed
  • Perform service work on existing homes and new construction sites
  • Be able to communicate with on site managers and home owners
  • Review and follow all job plans and instructions daily with supervisor
  • Track and update job status in SPS Tracking System
  • Observe operation of tools and equipment assigned to ensure proper maintenance and safe operation
  • Coordinate repairs of tools and equipment as needed with supervisor. Maintain and operate equipment in accordance with operating manuals and procedures, and maintain your assigned work area in a high state of cleanliness/readiness
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Work Environment
Will work mainly in customer homes, new construction sites and some commercial work sites with multiple floors. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at job construction sites, which can include high noise levels, fumes from paint or stain, unfinished walking areas and weather.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. This position requires the ability to drive as required for the position, the ability to pass DOT medical/physical exam as required for position, and the ability to safely lift over 75lbs. on a regular basis.
Required Education and Experience
  • Cabinetry installation work experience
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Willingness to learn carpentry methods and techniques
  • Ability to use and read a tape measure to the 16th of an inch with accuracy and precision

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Prior cabinet installation or trim experience
  • Carpentry skills, proficiency in using electric and hand powered carpentry tools
