Job description

DUTIES:
  • Reads blueprint or job order to determine dimensions and tolerances of work piece,
    and tooling instructions such as holding fixtures, cutting speeds, depth of cut, and
    cutting tools to be used.
  • Measures work piece and scribes guidelines for cutting key seat.
  • Mounts specified tool on ram.
  • Secures work piece in fixture or to post on machine table and aligns it with cutting tool.
  • Moves controls to set specified ram speed, length of stroke, and feed rate.
  • Turns hand wheel to feed reciprocating tool to work piece until depth of cut conforms
    to specifications, or engages automatic feeding device.
  • Verifies conformance of machined work piece to specifications.
  • Turns hand wheel or adjustment screw to tilt table to cut tapered key seats.
  • Layout work piece for drilling and tapping
  • Drill and tap holes

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be able to read a tape measure and blueprints
  • Must be proactive and a self-starter
  • Must have good attendance
  • Must be able to work overtime
  • Must work well with others
